On 28 September 2022 Iliya NIkolov President of ISPOR Bulgaria Chapter and Assoc. Prof. Maria Kamusheva, President Elect of ISPOR Bulgaria Chapter participated in a virtual ISPOR CEE Consortium Executive Committee meeting. The meeting was led by the Chair of The Consortium Executive Committee Bertalan Németh, MSc, PhD. During the meeting several important topics were discussed:
- top 3 HEOR for each country
- strategic directions and
- priorities of the CEE Consortium and the improvements that each ISPOR Chapter could recommend and suggest for the CEE Consortium.
The President Elect of ISPOR Bulgaria Assoc. Prof. Maria Kamusheva highlighted that the main focus in Bulgaria is put on the process of digitalization in healthcare sector and emphasized that it is a challenge for all stakeholders and participants in the healthcare system in the country.
Lack of enough collaboration between the politicians and experts in the field as well as no political will, due to the unstable political condition in the country, could be defined as the main issues and factors leading to problematic digitalization of the sector. Assoc. Prof. Kamusheva clarified that through digitalization a lot of problems might be solved on a local level or just it could be a step forward to better healthcare and management of the system could be realized.
In the scope of this problem, ISPOR Bulgaria could highlight the following Top 3 HEOR topics and priorities for 2022:
- Real-World Evidence: Using RWE in Healthcare Decision Making
- HTA
- Health Data: Addressing Infrastructure and Interoperability
